Nyanvura is 50 years old and a mother of four children. She and her husband cultivate food for consumption and sell the surplus to buy basic items, such as sugar and salt.
Three years ago, Nyanvura developed a reducible right inguinal hernia. This painful condition limits her ability to walk long distances, lift heavy items, and work in her gardens. She never visited a hospital because she knew she could not afford care.
When Nyanvura learned about Watsi, she decided to visit our medical partner’s hospital, Holy Family Virika Hospital. On November 9, she underwent a hernia repair surgery. Now, she needs help to fund this $249 procedure. After recovery, she hopes to work hard to support her family.

Nyanvura underwent successful hernia surgery.
She is no longer at a risk of strangulation of the hernia. After recovery, she will be able to do all her duties without any difficulty.
Nyanvura says, “I feel better. I am happy because I have had a successful surgery. After recovery and regaining my strength, I will be able to work in my gardens and look after my family. I pray that God bless all the donors of Watsi.”
She is no longer at a risk of strangulation of the hernia. After recovery, she will be able to do all her duties without any difficulty.
