The day was a celebration until his motorcycle’s brakes went out.
On his way home from his daughter’s graduation ceremony, Peter was in a serious motorcycle accident. After being rushed to the hospital, he received basic care for injuries to his right arm, tibia and fibula fractures, and an open leg wound.
He was then referred to our medical partner’s care center, AIC Kapsowar Hospital, for more advanced treatment. The surgical team is planning a complex free flap operation, stabilizing the fractured bone and covering the damaged tissue. The surgery is scheduled to take place on October 21st.
However, Peter’s financial constraints threaten his recovery. He works as a plumber, and his wife sells second-hand clothing with enough earnings to cover daily expenses, but not a complex and unexpected leg surgery.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,500 to help cover Peter’s surgery and recovery, restoring both his quality of life and ability to work.
“I’m praying and looking forward to walking again so that I can continue to provide for my family,” Peter says.
