Emmanuel is a farmer from Malawi. He and his wife have six children and six grandchildren. To support his family, Emmanuel engages in farming of maize and tobacco.
Four years ago, Emmanuel started experiencing troubling symptoms including difficulties in passing urine and stool. Emmanuel was diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia and was recommended to undergo an open prostatectomy surgery. A prostatectomy is a surgery to remove part or all of the prostate.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $530 to fund this procedure. The treatment is scheduled to take place at their care center, Nkhoma Hospital, on May 23rd. Once completed, it will hopefully improve Emmanuel’s quality of life.
Emmanuel says, “I’m looking forward to getting better soon.”
