Stefano is 16 and in the 6th grade. Like most 16-year-old boys, he loves playing football, but he has a condition known as Blount’s disease that severely hinders his ability to run and play normally.
Blount’s disease is a growth disorder of the shin bone which causes the lower leg to angle inwards, resembling a bow leg. If left untreated, the disorder can worsen making it difficult and painful to walk and run. Stefano already finds it difficult to play sports. He often has to sit out after just a few minutes of playing.
For just $1000 Stefano can undergo the orthopedic surgery he needs to correct his malformed shin bones. Following surgery it is expected that Stefano will regain mobility and will be able to get back on the football field with his friends.
