Dolla is a farmer from Malawi. She is a widowed mother who lives with her adult children. Dolla spends her days caring for her home and cooking. In her free time, she likes to sit and listen to the radio.
Since October 2017, Dolla has been experiencing pain and abnormal bleeding. She has been diagnosed with cervical cancer. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus.
Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $650 to fund Dolla’s surgery. On February 8, she will undergo gynecological surgery at Nkhoma Hospital, our medical partner’s care center. The requested money pays for supplies, medications, and seven nights of hospital stay. Dolla was thrilled to find out her surgery would be funded. She is eager to have her procedure and return to her farm and family cancer-free.
She says, “Thank you for this support.”
