Caleb is a cheerful 10-year-old boy from Migori County, Kenya. As the eldest of three siblings and a grade 4 student, he has big dreams for the future. When asked about his aspirations, Caleb revealed, “I would like to become a doctor so I can help needy patients and children with conditions like mine.”
Caleb was born with Bilateral Congenital Talipes Equinovarus (CTEV), commonly known as clubfoot. This condition causes both feet to turn inward and downward, making it difficult for Caleb to walk or stand properly. Despite this challenge, Caleb remains full of hope and determination.
In November 2023, Caleb underwent his first surgery, which healed well. He is now back in hospital undergoing serial casting to prepare for his next surgery. The treatment will further improve his mobility and quality of life, allowing him to move more freely and run his daily activities without difficulty.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Caleb receive treatment. On December 6th, he will undergo clubfoot repair surgery at AIC Cure International Hospital. The surgery will help straighten his feet, enabling him to wear shoes, stand upright, walk, run, and play football—his favorite sport. Most importantly, it will allow him to continue his education without difficulty and work toward his dream of becoming a doctor. Now, Caleb’s family needs help to fund this $1,286 procedure and post-treatment care.
Caleb’s mother says, “I have faith that he will walk properly like other children, finish his education, and serve as a living testament to inspire others with his journey.”
