Erlanda is a bright eight-year-old girl from Haiti who loves to dance and read. She takes her studies seriously and wants to become a doctor. Erlanda lives with her parents, brother and sister. She is especially close with her mother, whom she calls her best friend.
When she was four, Erlanda was diagnosed with congenital heart disease. One of the valves in her heart is unable to adequately pump blood to the rest of her body. As a result, Erlanda is constantly out of breath and unable to participate in physical activities.
For $1500, a surgical repair of her pulmonary stenosis can fix Erlanda’s condition once and for all, enabling her to lead a healthy life going forward. Let’s help Erlanda live a life where she can run and play with friends, and focus on making her dream of becoming a doctor a reality!
