Kasangaki is a 67-year-old father of seventeen children. Two of his children are in primary school, and the rest are adults. Kasangaki works as a tailor. He often sews school uniforms for children.
In 2001, Kasangaki developed a painful swelling in a sensitive area. He was referred to our medical partner’s hospital, where he was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia and was advised to have surgery.
Due to pain, Kasangaki was unable to lift heavy items. He could not use his manual sewing machine, so he could not earn money to support his family. Without treatment, he risked intestine damage and worsening pain.
On November 2, Kasangaki underwent hernia repair surgery. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $249 to fund this procedure. After recovery, Kasangaki hopes to return to work. He also plans to support his two children as they finish school.
“I have hope that I will be well, since there are people willing to help me,” shares Kasangaki.
