Sat is a 54-year-old security guard from Kandal Province, Cambodia. He is married with three children, and he and his wife both work as security guards. His son and youngest daughter are students. In his free time, he enjoys keeping up with the news on his phone. About two years ago, Sat developed a pterygium in his right eye — a non-cancerous growth on the surface of the eye — causing persistent tearing, irritation, and difficulty seeing clearly. The condition has made it hard for him to recognize faces and carry out his daily responsibilities. Fortunately, on June 17th, our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, will help Sat undergo pterygium removal surgery that will help him see better. He can contribute $25, but needs help raising $273 more to fund his procedure and care. Sat said, "I hope after surgery my eye can see better, stop tearing, and can go back to work, so I don’t worry about my eye anymore."

Enos is a 59-year-old man and father of three children from Uganda. He and his wife depend on small-scale farming as their primary source of livelihood. Together, they cultivate crops to feed their family and earn some income to meet household needs, including their children's education. In his free time, Enos enjoys singing at church, which brings him spiritual comfort and happiness, as well as watching television and spending time with his family. He values his role as a husband and father and takes pride in contributing to his family's well-being through farming. Last year, Enos noticed a swelling developing around his right ear. Initially, the swelling appeared manageable, but it has progressively increased in size. The uncertainty surrounding the nature and progression of the swelling has also caused him considerable anxiety. Concerned about his condition, Enos sought medical attention and was given an ultrasound scan. The findings were suggestive of a benign tumor located in front of his right ear. After clinical assessment, surgical intervention was recommended to address the swelling. Enos is scheduled to receive surgery on his right ear on November 3rd at our medical partner's care center, Rushoroza Hospital. This procedure and care will cost $134. Doctors are hopeful that this procedure will help Enos regain his health and allow him to return to his farming and social activities. Enos shares, "I am worried about the swelling that has continued to grow near my right ear, and I wish to have it treated before it causes me further complications. Unfortunately, my wife and I live on small-scale farming, and our limited income is already committed to supporting our three children and paying their school fees. We cannot afford the cost of the recommended surgery on our own. I kindly appeal to donors to support me so that I can undergo the operation, recover, and return to my farming activities and family responsibilities. Bunny is a 33-year-old man who lives in Kandal Province in Cambodia. He works as a construction worker, while his wife works in a garment factory. The couple also has a small household garden, where they grow vegetables. Together, Bunny and his wife have three children. About a month ago, Bunny was involved in a motor vehicle accident, and sustained an injury on his left foot. He initially received treatment at a private clinic, where the wound was cleaned and dressed. He then continued wound care at home. Despite this, the wound failed to heal, and has remained open as a non-healing injury. The condition has significantly affected his daily life. He has difficulty walking, performing physical work, and returning to his job, which has impacted his family’s financial stability. Bunny was referred to our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, for specialized care. He is scheduled to undergo free flap surgery on his left foot on June 17th, at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre. The surgery will close the wound, promote healing, and restore foot function. This will help restore Bunny's mobility, allowing him to walk more comfortably, and enabling him to return to work and normal daily activities. Bunny and his family are able to contribute towards the cost of his treatment, but need help raising $759 more to fund the surgery. Bunny says: “After surgery, I hope that my wound will heal completely, so I can walk comfortably again, return to work, and take care of my daily responsibilities without difficulty.”
