Baraka is a child from Tanzania. He loves playing and making new friends. Baraka has four other siblings, and they all depend on their mother, who is a casual laborer on surrounding farms. Baraka’s parents separated shortly after he was born.
Since he was a baby, Baraka has been experiencing heavy snoring at night and difficulty breathing and feeding. He also experiences frequent illness and sleep apnea. Baraka was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils, which, if not treated, will cause his symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $633 to fund a tonsillectomy for Baraka, which is scheduled to take place on December 28. Surgeons will remove his tonsils, hopefully relieving Baraka of his symptoms and helping him live more comfortably.
Baraka’s mother says, “I am very grateful for your helping us get treatment. My son breathes poorly…I am just so glad that this surgery will help him.”
