Ibrahim is a 62-year-old man from Mali, a country with a history of renowned orators. It is no surprise then, that Ibrahim is known as a passionate storyteller and superb orator. In his free time, Ibrahim loves to share stories with the children in his community.
For the past few months, Ibrahim has had increasing difficulty urinating. He was diagnosed with prostatic hypertrophy, which means that he has benign uncontrolled growth of his prostate. Without action, the doctor’s caring for Ibrahim are afraid the growth may completely block the flow urine to the outside, which could cause permanent kidney damage.
To resolve Ibrahim’s painful urinary obstruction and to prevent further damage to his kidneys, he will need surgery to remove his prostate. The treatment will cost $740, but it is too expensive for his family to bear, and Ibrahim hasn’t been able to work since an earlier sickness left him blind.
Let’s help write a healthier chapter in Ibrahim’s story and fund his treatment!
