In the congenital form, which is what Poe Sa has, the common bile ducts between the liver and the small intestine are blocked or missing. Poe Sa and his mother visited multiple clinics to seek treatment but were turned away for their inability to pay. Po Sa's mother hopes that, once healthy, her son will grow up to get an education and eventually become a doctor who can help others. For $1500, Po Sa can receive a surgery that will remove the blockage in his bile ducts and allow him to live a healthy life!

Ibrahim is a 62-year-old man from Mali, a country with a history of renowned orators. It is no surprise then, that Ibrahim is known as a passionate storyteller and superb orator. In his free time, Ibrahim loves to share stories with the children in his community. For the past few months, Ibrahim has had increasing difficulty urinating. He was diagnosed with prostatic hypertrophy, which means that he has benign uncontrolled growth of his prostate. Without action, the doctor’s caring for Ibrahim are afraid the growth may completely block the flow urine to the outside, which could cause permanent kidney damage. He frequently feels weak and tired, and after seeking medical treatment at the local hospital, he was diagnosed with cardiac disease. Naing Htun cannot afford hospital fees or prescriptions because he is out of work. His wife and daughters barely make enough money in their vegetable sales and factory jobs to support the family. For $2,000, Naing Htun will receive cardiac surgery at a local hospital. This operation will remove the diseased heart tissue and eliminate his symptoms of fatigue, heavy breathing, and heart palpitations so that Naing Htun can return to supporting his family.
