At 30 years old, San should be enjoying life with her husband and two children. Instead, she’s facing the frightening potential consequences of untreated congenital heart disease.
San first started experiencing symptoms of heart disease when she was 13. But as a low-income person in Thailand, seeking medical attention is difficult. And as a result, she wasn’t diagnosed by a doctor until last year.
San’s life has been rocked by her diagnosis. She’s been forced to stop working, relying on her husband for support. Yet she maintains a sense of optimism and hope for the future, telling her doctors that once she is healthy again, she wants to donate money to struggling communities so that children have access to the education and healthcare she didn’t have.
Only $1,500 stands in the way of San receiving life-changing heart surgery. Let’s close the gap and help San move forward with her life!

San received heart surgery to correct her congenital heart disease.
The operation was a great success! San no longer suffers from fatigue, palpitations, or frequent chest pain. Before the surgery, eating and sleeping were extremely difficult and San was growing depressed. Now, San can walk around freely without feeling tired and is thoroughly enjoying eating again. She laughed and said that her family has a hard time gathering the money to satisfy her appetite.
When San returned home, her husband was very happy to see that she was healthy and energetic again. Her neighbors also came to see how she was doing because they had never seen someone receive heart surgery before. San is looking forward to returning to work in a factory and supporting her family. Truly a philanthropist at heart, she said that she wants to donate money to troubled communities and give children opportunities and supplies to go to school.
San told our medical partners that she cannot begin to express her gratitude. She sends her thanks to all those who supported her throughout her treatment. If it is possible, she would love to give back to the organization and to the people who funded her treatment. She even offered to clean the staff member’s houses! Thank you for granting treatment to this very-deserving woman.
