Christopher, a 17-year-old boy from Haiti, has always been smaller than the other boys his age. However, once Christopher’s slow physical development began to get in the way of everyday life, his father grew concerned and took him to see a doctor.
Christopher was diagnosed with a heart condition, resulting from a hole between two chambers that inhibits proper blood circulation. Christopher attends school each day in Port-au-Prince and loves to spend time with friends playing soccer and guitar. He hopes to continue on to university and study international relations. However, due to his condition, Christopher has begun to tire more easily, and doctors are concerned that without proper surgical treatment his condition could worsen and eventually turn fatal.
With this $1,500 treatment, doctors will surgically close up the hole between Christopher’s two heart chambers, restoring it to its full function. Let’s help get Christopher healthy again so he can pursue his dreams of a higher education!
