39-year-old Sopheap lives with his wife and two young children in rural Pailin province in Cambodia. Both Sopheap and his wife farm potatoes, and sometimes rice, for extra income. In his free time, Sopheap likes to play volleyball in the village. In early March, Sopheap was in a motorbike accident and suffered an injury to his back. X-rays showed a C6-7 dislocation of the spine. Since the accident, Sopheap has not been able to work, experiences numbness in his arm, and is unable to sleep comfortably through the night due to his pain. Fortunately, our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), is helping Sopheap to receive treatment. On April 6th, doctors at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre will perform spinal surgery with implants to stabilize the spinal column. Now, Sopheap and his family need your help to raise $1,500 to fund the procedure and care. The money will cover the cost of hospitalization, surgery, implants, physical therapy, and medication. After recovery, Sopheap's condition should improve significantly, and he should have full mobility after four to eight weeks. Sopheap shared: "I want to be able to go back to work and support my family."

Primah is a small-scale farmer from Uganda. Her husband works as an attendant at the National Water Company but receives a modest salary that barely covers their basic needs. She is a mother of three children, all delivered via caesarean section. Her first child was born in 2016, the second in 2017, and the third in 2020. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. Primah has come to the antenatal clinic to schedule a C-section for a safe and healthy pregnancy outcome. Primah has been diligently attending the antenatal clinic at Kawala Hospital in Kampala, where she has received comprehensive care. She is currently expecting her fourth child. Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a caesarean section because of her higher risk. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Primah undergo a C-section on September 19. This procedure will cost $252, and Primah and her family need your support. Primah says, “I appeal to donors to support my surgery. I am hopeful that after the surgery, I will be able to return to farming.”

Brendah is a tall, humble, and shy 17-year-old. She is a student in senior three level at school and hopes to become a nurse. Brendah lives with her aunt because her parents separated, and her mother married another man. Her aunt is a farmer, and Brendah helps her with domestic chores around the house. Brendah has suffered for 11 years with a large swelling on her right arm. She sought help from our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH). The swelling is now so large that it limits her movement and is painful when she lifts her arm, when writing, and when pressed. Brendah traveled to AMH's care center for treatment. On September 5th, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Brendah needs help to raise $188 to fund this procedure. Brendah's aunt says, “This condition has even affected her school performance but I hope once operated, she will have a normal life again.”
