Silver is a 72-year-old man from Uganda. He works as a builder, and his wife retired from farming and now supervises their fields. Silver has twelve children, with his oldest in their 40s and his youngest studying in secondary school. Most of his children have their own families and can only provide limited support.
For eight years, Silver has had a right inguinal hernia. While the pain was only mild initially, his symptoms have worsened with time. Now, he cannot walk long distances or complete his day-to-day work.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), can help. On December 9th, Silver will under surgery that will allow him to live more comfortably and confidently. AMH is requesting $170 to fund Silver’s surgery.
Silver says, “I finally have hope of living a normal life once again through surgery. I will continue with building in our village so that I may be able to take good care of myself and my family.”
