Mary is a 66-year-old strong, self-sufficient woman in Kenya who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Mary makes her living selling kale from her own garden. To fight breast cancer and prevent it from spreading to other parts of her body, Mary needs to undergo a mastectomy.
Mary’s doctors expect that she will make a full recovery after her mastectomy and be able to live independently and return to kale gardening. Mary refuses to let cancer get the best of her and is determined to keep living self-sufficiently.
Her mastectomy will cost $830, and although Mary has been a diligent, successful gardener throughout her life, she cannot afford this procedure. If Mary is able to have her mastectomy funded, she can continue to live as the tenacious, incredible woman she is. Let’s help her out!
