Shwe is a 32-year-old woman from Burma. She lives with her husband and two daughters at Phop-Phra District, Tak Provance, Thailand. Shwe is a homemaker while her husband and her older daughter work as agriculture day laborers on farm, but they do not work regularly. Her daughter helps her for household chores and her younger daughter is a kindergarten student. Their total income is not enough to cover for their daily expense and they needs to borrow money to meet the end needs.
Since 2022, Shwe began to experience troubling symptoms, including tiredness, dizziness, headache, numbness of limps and can not sleep well. She missed working on farm and sometimes, she could not work on household chores so that her daughter can not go to work. She was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The thyroid is the gland located in front of your neck and produces thyroid hormones. These hormones are responsible for functions such as metabolism, growth and other bodily functions. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is helping Shwe receive treatment. On December 2nd, she will undergo a thyroidectomy, where surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $1,500, and she and her family need help raising money.
Shwe said, “I am deeply impressed when I heard that the donors will pay my surgery cost. I would like to thank you so much for your help”
