13-month-old Stella is the first and only child to her mother and father, who live in a rural village in Tanzania. Her parents works as small farmers.
Stella’s mother noticed that her daughter had difficulty breathing and snored at night. In addition, Stella often fell sick with colds. Stella’s parents sought care for her through our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF). At AMHF’s care center, Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre, doctors discovered Stella has enlarged adenoids, the glands at the back of the throat.
Removing Stella’s adenoids will improve her breathing and health. She’ll get fewer colds, and she’ll be able to sleep more soundly. For $488, we can fund an adenoidectomy for Stella. She is scheduled for treatment on January 12.
Stella’s mother says, “I hope that my child is able to sleep soundly and breath normally after her surgery.”
