War Htun is a 35-year-old woman who lives with her husband in Burma. She used to resell clothing at the market, but when it became unprofitable she began helping at her sister-in-law’s dry goods business. For her help, War Htun is compensated in food, clothing, and sometimes money.
About six months ago, War Htun began having pain in the lower right side of her abdomen and unusually long menstrual cycles. At the clinic, she was diagnosed with a uterine myoma, which is a non-cancerous tumor that grows in the muscle of the uterus.

War Htun said told our medical partner that she is thankful to the Burma Children Medical Fund and the donors who allowed her to get treatment.
