Sila is an 8-year-old girl with a foot deformity that makes it impossible to flex her foot or walk. If left untreated, Sila will be unable to walk for the rest of her life.
Luckily, doctors at CURE in Kenya can perform a surgical procedure to lengthen Sila’s abnormally rigid tendons. They’re confident that after this procedure, Sila will be able to use her foot with a full range of motion.
Sila came to the CURE Hospital with her parents and has stuck close to her family throughout this experience. Her doctors say she’s very quiet and shy, although they managed to get her to smile for a picture. They say this procedure will “make a world of difference” for her, and they are glad she has the opportunity to receive treatment.
