Meet Miles, a four-year-old boy living in the Philippines with his parents and four siblings. Miles “attends preschool and is always excited to study,” shares our medical partner, International Care Ministries. “He does his assignments on his own and is good at memorization. He is an active child at school and at home.”
Miles has an inguinal hernia, which has caused painful swelling in his groin. The pain has limited his ability to play with his friends and his parents are worried about their child’s future.
Miles’ family cannot afford the $465 operation to have the hernia repair, despite how hard his father works as a waiter in a nearby restaurant. But if the hernia is not treated, it could become “strangulated” – a life-threatening complication.
That’s where we come in. By funding Miles’ surgery, we can pay for his hernia repair and enable him to grow up healthy. “Thank God for the help of donors,” says Miles’ loving mother. “I thought my son will grow up having a physical problem.”
Let’s do this!
