Esther is seven years old and lives in Bunda. She lives with her parents and eight siblings, and she is the youngest child of six girls and two boys. Her father works as a pastor at their church. Esther likes to play football as well as play with toy dolls alongside her mother. She wants to become a doctor when she grows up.
Esther is a returning Watsi patient. Last month, she received surgery for burn contracture release to her right wrist and a skin graft to her right torso.
With third degree burns covering her torso, arms, wrists, and thighs, Esther will need to endure multiple surgeries over the following months. On May 5, surgeons will be performing a skin graft for the burns on her right side. The $1,376 cost of this treatment will cover Esther’s hospital stay and procedure.
