14-year-old Akugizibwe is a student from Uganda. He lives with his parents and older brother. Akugizibwe aspires to become a teacher and is studying hard to reach his goal.
For the last three years, Akugizibwe has developed a painful swelling on his abdomen. Treatment with local herbs and other pain medication was not successful. Since last month, the pain has become so great that Akugizibwe is unable to attend school.
Akugizibwe has been diagnosed with an abdominal wall cyst and needs surgery to remove it. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, has arranged for the $196 surgery to be performed on August 9.
“Our son is unwell and can no longer concentrate on his studies. We are asking for your help,” say Akugizibwe’s parents.
