Bonsa is a two-year-old boy from Ethiopia. His mother is a stay-at-home mom and his father is a daily sales worker. He has one older sister and one younger brother.
Since he was four months old, Bonsa has been experiencing facial swelling, redness of the eye, and swelling of his tongue which prevents him from sleeping through the night and eating comfortably. Bonsa had been treated for tonsillitis multiple times but the symptoms keep recurring. Bonsa was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils, which, if not treated, will cause his symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time.
Our medical partner, Saglan Wajee General Hospital, is requesting $700 to fund a tonsillectomy for Bonsa, which is scheduled to take place on November 30th. Surgeons will remove his tonsils, hopefully relieving Bonsa of his symptoms and helping him live more comfortably.
Bonsa’s mother shared, “I am eager to see my child get better so he can sleep well at night.”
