Lolari is one year old and the only child of his parents. His father is a farmer and livestock keeper, while his mother cares for Lolari and manages their home.
Lolari was born with clubfoot on both feet. Clubfoot is a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. The tissues connecting the muscle to the bones are shorter than usual and this causes difficulty walking and even wearing shoes. His family initially sought help at a nearby hospital, where Lolari underwent casting for two months. Unfortunately, his mother noticed no improvement and, with limited resources, they stopped seeking treatment. Later, they learned about our medical partner’s care center, Kafika House, giving them renewed hope for their son’s condition. Lolari’s mother and grandfather made the eight-hour journey to seek specialized care for Lolari.
Surgeons will begin clubfoot treatment on January 7th and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,119 to fund Lolari’s clubfoot repair. After treatment, with proper care, he can walk, play, and grow up with mobility and independence.
Lolari’s mother says, “I wish for my son’s leg to be corrected so that he can have a good future where his community accepts him.”
