Aprinel is 36 years old and a housewife from the Philippines. She manages her entire household and takes care of her child. She also helps with the family’s finances by taking on side jobs, such as doing laundry for other people. She also helps out as a dishwasher in a small restaurant. Her husband works as a cook in a small eatery.
Five years ago, Aprinel began to experience troubling symptoms, including easily getting tired, even from doing simple household chores. She was diagnosed with Colloid Adenomatous Goiter. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Fortunately, our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), is helping Aprinel receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on October 9th, where surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. A portion of the cost of her treatment is being supported by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and WSFP is raising the remaining $935 to cover the cost of Aprinel’s procedure and care.
Aprinel says, “I am sincerely expressing my gratitude to everyone who helps me during this difficult time. Thank you very much!”
