Sros is a thirty-two-year-old mother of two. Residing in tranquil Kampot province, Sros shares her life with her husband - a rice farmer - and their two children. Their 17-year-old son is working to become a monk, while their 13-year-old daughter studies in fifth grade. Sros is employed at a nearby garment factory, and when she returns home, she devotes much of her time to cooking meals for her family and maintaining a tidy home. Sros has an additional challenge of being hearing impaired and mute. In October 2023, during a rainstorm, she slipped in the mud and twisted her left leg enough to fracture her tibia and fibula - the bones in her lower leg. Financial limitations prevented the family from seeking help at the local clinic, so she sought help from a Khmer traditional healer, who applied a splint to her leg. Her pain still persists, rendering her unable to walk. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On January 4th, Sros will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will cost $483. This procedure will align her fractured bone into place for optimal healing so that she can walk again. Sros's husband said: "I hope the doctors can fix her leg so she can come home and not be in pain."

Rossette is a 35-year-old housewife from Uganda. Her husband works in a retail shop and supports his wife as she has not been able to find a job. During her free time, Rossette enjoys visiting her friends. Rossette is currently expecting her first child. She received antenatal care at Rushoroza Hospital, where her doctors recommended that she deliver via a Cesarean section because of breech presentation at term. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Rossette undergo a C-Section on March 1st. This procedure will cost $214 and Rossette needs your support. Rosette says, “I hope I will have a successful surgery with a positive outcome. After complete recovery, I will continue to search for a job. May God bless you.”

Phoeun is a carpenter and father of four from Cambodia. He lives with his wife and two children in rural Kampong Chnang province. Their other two children recently moved to nearby villages with their spouses. In his free time, Phoeun likes watching Cambodian and Thai boxing on TV and drinking coffee at the local street cart. Around five years ago, Phoeun noticed a mass growing behind his right ear. The mass has grown larger and occasionally becomes inflamed and infected. He experiences discomfort and has tried numerous medications from his local pharmacy with no improvement. Phoeun traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On April 3rd, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, will remove the mass. Now, Phoeun needs help to raise $273 to fund this procedure. Phoeun shared, "I would like to fix this problem with surgery so I can feel better and go back to work quickly."
