Moth is a 32-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He is married and lives with his wife, who works in a garment factory, and their two children, one in Grade 5 and the other in kindergarten. Before his injury, he enjoyed playing volleyball with friends in his village. On August 9, 2026, Moth was lifting a 30-foot iron pole while working on his home when it came into contact with an electrical wire. The resulting electrical burns severely injured both his hands and feet. Although he received treatment, he continued to have painful wounds and dead tissue on his feet, requiring further treatment at Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC). His injuries have made daily activities difficult because of pain and limited movement in his left wrist and fingers. He has been unable to return to his usual work, leaving his wife to support the family alone. The cost of treatment has also placed the family under significant financial pressure, and he still has debts to repay. Moth has been experiencing pain and has damaged, blackened skin on both feet, with dead tissue and an infection around the toes of his right foot. His doctors recommend an amputation of the 4th and 5th toes of the right foot and the big toe of the left foot to prevent symptoms from getting worse. Moth will undergo surgery on October 27th, and once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably. He can contribute $25, but needs help raising $563 more to fund his procedure and care. Moth said, “I hope this surgery will help my feet heal and reduce my pain. I want to use my hands more easily and return to work when I’m able. My wife is supporting our family alone right now, and I hope to recover so I can help her and rebuild our lives together.”

Catherine is a 43-year-old woman and mother of four children from Uganda. She and her husband are teachers. Together, they work hard to provide for their family, meet their children's educational needs, and ensure that the household has its necessities. Their teaching careers are an important source of livelihood, although the demands of raising four children and meeting other family responsibilities require careful financial planning. Five years ago, Catherine began to experience troubling symptoms, including persistent pain in her lower abdomen. Initially, she hoped that the discomfort would resolve with treatment, but unfortunately, the pain has continued over the years. She particularly experiences it during physical exertion, and despite receiving treatment, she has not obtained lasting relief. She was diagnosed with appendicitis. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Catherine receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo surgery that will address her symptoms and prevent future health complications on November 3rd. This procedure will cost $297, and Catherine and her family need your support. Catherine says, "For the past five years, I have lived with persistent pain in my lower abdomen. I have visited several health facilities and tried different treatments. This condition has caused me a lot of worry because I am a mother of four children and a teacher who still has many responsibilities to fulfil. I am afraid that if the problem is not properly treated, my condition may worsen and affect my ability to care for my family and continue working. Mengleang is a four-year-old kindergarten student from Cambodia. She lives in Kandal Province with her parents. Her father is a farmer, and her mother works in a garment factory. She is the youngest of three children - her older brother works in a beverage factory, and her sister is in Grade 11. She enjoys learning Khmer reading and writing and loves playing dolls with her friends. She dreams of becoming a nurse in the future. For the past four months, Mengleang has been experiencing sore throat, loud snoring, difficulty breathing at night, and trouble swallowing food and drinking water. Mengleang was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils and adenoids, which, if not treated, will cause her symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $345 to fund a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy for Mengleang, which is scheduled to take place on May 21st. Surgeons will remove her tonsils and adenoids, hopefully relieving Mengleang of her symptoms and helping her live much more comfortably. Her mother said: “I am very worried to see my daughter struggling to breathe and sleep at night. I hope this treatment will help her breathe easily, sleep peacefully, and grow up healthy without pain or discomfort.”
