Amani, who is two months old, lives with his mother and some of his siblings in the Mbulu district of Manyara in Tanzania. His mother takes on casual day jobs to support the family. Sadly, his father passed away a few years ago. His other siblings live with relatives due to financial hardship.
Amani has clubfoot on his left foot. Clubfoot is a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. The tissues connecting the muscle to the bones are shorter than usual, which will ultimately make it difficult for Amani to walk or to wear shoes.
Fortunately, Amani’s family learned about our medical partner’s care center, Kafika House, where surgeons will begin clubfoot treatment on November 15th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $341 to fund Amani’s care. After treatment, he will be able to walk easily and wear shoes comfortably.
Amani’s mother says: “I hope my son will be okay and grow up to be active and healthy!”
