Jacenta is a 46-year-old woman with a heart full of faith and a voice that carries songs of praise from Uganda. She is a mother and has spent most of her life as a small-scale farmer, alongside her husband.
One year ago, Jacenta started to experience abdominal pain, with heavy and prolonged bleeding. As the months passed, the pain worsened, making it difficult for her to do her daily activities. She visited a health center and was given medication, but her symptoms persisted.
Jacenta was referred to our medical partner’s care center, Rushoroza Hospital, where she was diagnosed with chronic pelvic inflammatory disease. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus, to address her symptoms.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $319 to fund Jacenta’s surgery. On January 7th, she will undergo gynecological surgery, which will help Jacenta resume her daily activities free of pain.
Jacenta says, “I am longing for treatment because I do not have funds, and the pain is too much.”
