Gift is a 23-year-old woman from Uganda. She is the youngest of three siblings, and her parents practice small-scale farming. Gift is married and lives with her husband and in-laws. Gift and her husband also practice small-scale farming, using their produce for family consumption and selling surplus crops at the market. Recently, their sales have decreased due to a drought that has hit their region and negatively impacted the market supply. During Gift’s free time, she enjoys spending time with youth empowerment groups.
Gift is currently expecting her second child. She has received a complete antenatal package, and her doctors recommend that she deliver via a cesarean section to ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping Gift undergo a C-section on November 8th. AMH is requesting $252 to fund this procedure.
Gift shared, “I appeal for your financial support to undergo this surgery. I will be glad to deliver my baby safely and continue with farming to support my family.”
