Estery is a mother of seven from Malawi. Estery lives with her husband and children, and the family works a small farm. Estery spends her days caring for her home and family. In her free time, she likes to sit with the ladies in her village chatting.
Since 2016, Estery has been experiencing lower abdominal pain. She has been diagnosed with ovarian cysts, which are fluid-filled sacs on the ovaries. She needs to undergo an ovarian cystectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will excise the cysts.
Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $541 to fund Estery’s surgery. On November 2, she will undergo gynecological surgery at Nkhoma Hospital, our medical partner’s care center. The requested money pays for supplies, medications, and seven nights of hospital stay. Estery was very happy to find out she would be funded for her surgery, especially since the operation was more than the family could afford.
She says, “I am so happy to have this surgery; I will be able to care for my family and home again!”
