Myo is a 19-year-old young man from Burma. His father is a truck conductor, while his mother cares for the children and manages the household. Because of ongoing strife, Myo's family fled from their hometown in Kachin State to Mandalay in December of 2024. His family's displacement and an underlying heart condition interrupted Myo's education, ultimately leading him to leave school in the 11th grade. In addition, his younger sister's schooling was disrupted when Myo could no longer drive her to school. Myo has a heart condition that requires replacement of two heart valves (aortic and mitral) and repair of the tricuspid valve. These valves control blood flow between the heart chambers and are necessary to prevent long-term damage to the heart and lungs. Currently, Myo experiences shortness of breath when walking, fatigue, and loss of appetite. Additionally, he has lost weight and has difficulty carrying out normal daily activities due to his condition. His mother spends most of her time caring for him, leaving her with less time to attend to other family responsibilities. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $1,500 for this complex surgery. The surgery is scheduled for November 4th. Following the treatment, Myo will hopefully regain his health and resume his daily activities. Myo’s mother expressed her heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much to the organization and the donors for helping with my son’s treatment costs. I have no words to express how thankful I am. Hav is a four-year-old boy from Cambodia. He is the only child in his family and currently lives with his grandmother, who is a rice farmer. Because of financial difficulties, his parents have moved to the city to find construction work. He enjoys playing with toys with his cousins, and his favorite foods are fried pork and eggs. Around May 2026, Hav suffered an electric burn to his left hand. Although the wound healed with basic wound care, scar tissue gradually formed and tightened around his left ring finger. The scar contracture has tightened the skin around his left ring finger, making it difficult for him to fully straighten and move the finger. This can also make it harder for him to use his hand comfortably while playing and during other everyday activities. When Hav's family learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), they traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On September 17th, surgeons at CSC will perform a burn contracture release surgery to address the scar that is restricting his ring finger, helping him move it more naturally. Better finger movement can support his ability to play, explore, and use his hand as he grows. Now, he needs help to fund this $652 procedure. Hav's grandmother said, “I hope the surgery will help my grandson move and straighten his finger more easily. He is still very young, and I hope he can use his hand comfortably as he grows, plays, and learns.”

Wai is a 29-year-old woman from Burma. She and her husband are farm workers. They have a six-year-old son who attends school. The family moved from Burma to Thailand in search of better job opportunities. On October 18th, 2026, Wai and her son were walking to their local village market to buy vegetables when a motorcycle struck them from behind. The driver was drunk and lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into Wai and her son. Wai protected her son with her body, taking the main impact. Her son only got minor bruises and did not require medical attention. Wai has a fracture in her thigh. She cannot move her leg and relies on her husband for help with all daily tasks. With the help of our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF), Wai will undergo surgery to reset her fractured bones and ensure proper healing. The procedure is scheduled for November 2nd and will help Wai walk again. Wai needs help raising $1,500 to help fund her treatment and care. Wai said, "I am so happy and want to thank the donors. Life is already difficult, but this support makes it worth it. Our family feels incredibly lucky that BCMF and the donors are willing to help. Without the organization's help, I could not afford the surgery, and I would be unable to work. Thank you!"
