Amina is a cute, newborn baby girl from Tanzania. She was born on August 17, 2016. She eats well and doesn’t cry very often. She was born with an open lesion on her lower back and she also has hydrocephalus, or an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in her brain.
Amina’s parents are small scale farmers and they also keep some chickens. All of their children except for Amina are going to school. They have managed to build their three bedroom house by using brick stones. They did not expect that Amina would be born with her condition, and that the cost of treatment would be so out of reach.
$1,200 will fund the surgery Amina needs to get healthy. Her parents are very happy to finally get a baby girl and they are praying that she will get better. What they earn from farming and keeping chickens is not enough to cover their daily expenses as well as the cost of surgery which Amina needs. However, with our help, we can make her recovery possible.
“I am very grateful to God for blessing me with a baby girl,” Amina’s mother shared. “I have been praying for a baby girl for a long time and now I pray that she will get well.”
