Koumba is a 48-year-old woman living in Yirimadio, Mali. She is a homemaker, and has one son.
About two months ago, Koumba started experiencing abdominal pain, fever, and a feeling of fullness. She went to a health center and upon clinical examination, aided by ultrasound, a diagnosis of uterine fibroids was made. Uterine fibroids, are benign growths in the uterus. She needs to undergo a myomectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove the fibroids.
Our medical partner, Muso, is requesting $677 to fund Koumba’s surgery. She is scheduled to undergo her myomectomy on September 8th at Hôpital du Mali.
Koumba says: “I will be very happy to be in good health after my treatment.”
