Valeria is a bright and delightful seven-year-old who lives in Antioquia with her mother and grandparents. Valeria’s mother is the sole provider for their family, working hard to make ends meet. Despite the challenges, Valeria lights up any room with her sweet personality. She loves to skate, enjoy walks in the park, and her absolute favorite meal is spaghetti.
Valeria has a condition called umbilical hernia, where the intestine protrudes through the abdominal muscles at the belly button. Her mother brought her to our medical partner’s care center, Clinica Noel and upon review, surgery was recommended. Unfortunately, Valeria’s mother is unable to raise the required treatment funds.
Our medical partner, Clinica Noel, is helping Valeria receive treatment. On March 6th, she will undergo a hernia repair surgery that will greatly improve her daily life and help ease the discomfort she feels. Now, Valeria’s family needs help to fund this $786 procedure.
Valeria’s mother shares: “To all those kind-hearted individuals supporting my daughter, we cannot thank you enough. Our children are the future of the society.”
