Savoeun is a 64-year-old woman from Cambodia. She previously worked as a rice farmer and is now retired. She is married and has three sons, three daughters, and fifteen grandchildren. She lives with her husband, who is also a retired farmer, and they are supported financially by their children. In her free time, she enjoys listening to the radio and listening to monks' prayers. For the past two years, Savoeun has been living with age-related cataracts. She developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. A cataract is a clouding of the lens of the eye, so it is like looking through a frosty or fogged-up window. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so she is not able to go places on her own. When Savoeun learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On July 8th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $263 procedure. Savoeun said, "I hope that after cataract surgery, my vision will improve so that I can recognize my relatives more easily and go outside with greater confidence and independence."

Angelita is a 51-year-old woman from the Philippines. She spends most of her time caring for her grandchild, which brings her joy. Her eldest daughter works at a golf facility, while her second-youngest daughter works as a virtual assistant. Her husband takes on occasional construction jobs but cannot work regularly due to his history of tuberculosis. Seventeen years ago, Angelita began to experience troubling symptoms, including difficulty eating and regular discomfort when sleeping. She was diagnosed with multinodular non-toxic goiter. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse. Fortunately, our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), is helping Angelita receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on October 30th, where surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. A portion of the cost of her treatment is being supported by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and WSFP is asking for help raising the remaining $873 to cover the cost of Angelita's procedure and care. Angelita shared, "My heart is grateful for this opportunity. Thank you to Watsi for making this happen. I hope more families will receive the same compassion, support, and renewed hope that my family and I have experienced."

Fanta is a 30-year-old woman from Mali. She is a homemaker who enjoys listening to the radio in her free time. Fanta is currently expecting her first child. Doctors have recommended that she deliver via caesarean section to ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, Muso, is helping Fanta undergo a C-Section on September 15th. This procedure will cost $259, and Fanta needs your support. Fanta says, "I look forward to delivering a healthy baby through the procedure."
