This is Sarita, a lovely 19-year-old from Nepal. Sarita currently studies in the 12th grade and hopes to become a social worker.
After spilling hot lentil soup on her body, a keloid scar began to form on her chest. As a result, Sarita often feels an itchy, burning sensation. If the keloid is not removed, she will also be at risk of developing an ulcer.
For $1420, Sarita will receive skin grafting. This surgery will prevent a Marjolin’s ulcer, and relieve Sarita of her current irritation. Her family works as farmers, so they are thankful for the support from Watsi donors to fund Sarita’s treatment and allow her to pursue her dreams of helping others!

Sarita is unfortunately not going to receive the treatment you funded, so we've just sent you a gift card in the amount of your donation.
Delivering healthcare in rural Nepal is an incredible challenge, and sometimes the circumstances regarding a treatment you funded can change based on this reality. As a result, Sarita will no longer receive the care the you funded for reasons outside of our medical partner’s control.
We are so sorry for the delay in sending Sarita’s final update. We are committed to transparently reporting all patient outcomes to you, so it’s important to us that you decide where your money goes next.
We’ve just emailed you a Watsi gift card for the same amount as your donation to Sarita. We’d love for you to use this gift card to support another Watsi patient of your choice. But if you do not want to reallocate your donation to another patient, we’ll gladly refund your contribution.
Thanks again for supporting Watsi patients, we can’t tell you how much we appreciate it.
