“I love school and I want to work hard and pass my exams," says Peter. "I want to get a good job when I grow up so that I can help my parents." Peter is a bright, nine-year-old boy from Kenya, and the youngest of his five siblings. His family lives in a four-room mud house. Peter has hypospadius -- a condition where the urethra opening runs along the shaft of the penis instead of the tip. According to our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation: “If not treated, Peter is likely to suffer urinary tract infection and difficulty fathering children when the time comes. His performance in class has deteriorated because Peter has become withdrawn.” After he receives a hypospadius repair to fix the defect, Peter will be able to pass urine normally. However, Peter's parents are small scale farmers and do not have the funds to pay for their son’s treatment. For $655, we can fund Peter's surgery and help him regain his health.

Meet four-year-old Angeline from Haiti. "Angeline is a very quiet and sweet girl, who is shy around new people but very attached to her mother," Haiti Cardiac Alliance (HCA) tells us. "She likes listening to music and playing with her older brother. She hasn't yet started primary school, but will start next year once her heart is fixed." "Angeline was born with a condition called pulmonic stenosis, in which a muscular blockage prevents blood from flowing freely into the pulmonary artery, causing it to back up into the heart," HCA writes. Luckily Health City Cayman Islands has stepped up with $5,000 to help fund the cost of the surgery Angeline needs. "Following surgery, Angeline should have normal blood flow through her heart, and should not experience any ongoing symptoms from her condition," HCA continues. $1,500 will cover the rest of costs associated with Angeline's care, including overseas prep and transport. This is Sarita, a lovely 19-year-old from Nepal. Sarita currently studies in the 12th grade and hopes to become a social worker. After spilling hot lentil soup on her body, a keloid scar began to form on her chest. As a result, Sarita often feels an itchy, burning sensation. If the keloid is not removed, she will also be at risk of developing an ulcer. For $1420, Sarita will receive skin grafting.
