“I want to see with both my eyes again,” 65-year-old Monicah tells us. Monicah lives in Kenya with her husband and seven children! She works to take care of their home and her husband manages their small farm.
“Monicah has not been able to see using her left eye for almost two years,” explains our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF). Monicah has a cataract in her left eye that significantly impairs her vision. Cataracts are characterized by clouding of the lens and are the leading cause of blindness worldwide.
Monicah will need surgery to remove the cataract; her doctors at AMHF tell us, “if the surgery is not done, Monicah will never be able to see with both her eyes again.”
For $230, we can fund Monicah’s cataract surgery and give her access to the care she needs to see clearly again!
