Pu is 46 and no longer able to work because of severe pain from gallstones. His wife has had to take time off to care for him, putting the family’s financial situation in even more dire shape.
A procedure that can remove Pu’s gallstones costs $1,330. Doctors expect it will relieve Pu’s pain and allow him to return to work.
Pu says that he is worried about his condition and how expensive the procedure is.
Pu’s income is barely enough to cover daily living expenses. Pu is grateful to have the support of the Burma Children Medical Fund and Watsi so that he can recover!

Pu received surgery to relieve pain caused by a gallstone.
Pu says he can eat well, walk longer, and has more energy. Our medical partner writes: “Pu is happy that he will now be able to pick up the corn and carry it [which was required for his job as a day laborer]. He is also happy that he will be able to eat chili which he could not eat before.”
