Prossy is a 40-year-old woman from Uganda who grew up as the oldest of six children. She studied up to senior six and then trained in business administration, earning her diploma after two years. Prossy worked for a few years and later married her husband, who was a primary teacher. Her family underwent hardships when her husband was arrested due to loans that the bank mishandled, but he was a signatory on. Prossy had to leave her job and sell their belongings to secure her husband's release. The financial and emotional toll has been hard, but Prossy resolved to start small-scale farming, where she grows beans and maize. Prossy visited our medical partner's hospital for antenatal care. She is currently expecting a new baby, and her doctors recommend that she deliver via a cesarean section due to her obstetric history. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Prossy undergo a C-section on August 4th. AMH is requesting $207 to fund this procedure. Prossy said, "I thank God for His protection and guidance since I got this pregnancy. I appreciate the services offered here at Ibanda Hospital. I hope my request will be accepted because I am financially unstable to cater for my operation. I will keep practicing farming and, after getting capital, I will start up a business again to support my family."

Sakrorny is a 10-year-old third grader from Cambodia. He lives with his grandmother, a 60-year-old rice farmer, while his parents do labor work abroad to support the family. He has two younger siblings who live with his parents. He enjoys writing and reading, and in his free time, he likes playing football with his friends and eating fried chicken. In the future, he hopes to work in a big factory. In January, Sakrorny fell off a bike after hitting a stone on the road and injured his left leg. The following day, he developed swelling and pain and became unable to walk. X-rays revealed a bone fragment in his left leg, and he underwent surgery to remove it along with antibiotic cement spacer treatment. After surgery, he regained the ability to walk, although he still experiences some mild pain. He is now scheduled for a follow-up procedure to remove the spacer and undergo bone grafting to support further healing. Fortunately, on April 23rd, our medical partner, the Children's Surgical Centre, will assist Sakrorny in undergoing this procedure. This surgery will cost $600, and Sakrorny needs your support to fund the surgery. Sakrorny's aunt said, “After the first surgery, I was relieved that he could walk again, but it still worries me that he has some pain. I hope with time and proper care, he will fully recover, walk without pain, and live a normal, active life like other children.”

Kosal is a 41-year-old grocery seller from Cambodia. She lives in Kampong Chhnang Province with her husband and three school-aged children. Her husband works as a construction worker, while she runs a small grocery business to support the family. She enjoys cooking for her family and taking care of her children’s education in her free time. Kosal had an ear infection when she 15 years old. This infection caused a cholesteatoma, or an abnormal skin growth, to develop in the middle ear behind the ear drum. For this reason, Kosal experiences chronic left ear discharge (otorrhea), recurrent ear infections, intermittent ear pain, and hearing loss. The long-term ear condition causes ongoing discomfort and repeated discharge, affecting her daily comfort and confidence. It has also been a persistent health problem for many years, interfering with her quality of life and causing worry due to continuous symptoms despite previous treatments. Kosal traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On May 21st, she will undergo a mastoidectomy procedure in her left ear. During this procedure, ENT surgeons will remove the cholesteatoma. Kosal and her family are able to contribute towards the cost of her treatment, but need help raising $377 more to fund the procedure. She says: “I have lived with ear pain and discharge for many years and never knew surgery could help me. I am very hopeful that this treatment will finally stop the pain, heal my ear, and allow me to live more comfortably without worry.”
