Kimhuor is 18 years old and a hardworking waiter from Cambodia. He lives on the outskirts of Phnom Penh with his parents, who work as cleaners at a company. He is the eldest of four siblings, and his younger siblings are still students. Because of the family’s financial situation, he stopped studying in Grade 10 and started working as a waiter to help support the family. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music and playing games on his phone. Five days ago, Kimhuor was involved in a traffic accident with a car that was driving in the opposite direction, causing a closed fracture of his left tibial plateau. Since the accident, he has experienced significant pain and difficulty walking independently. Because of his injury, he cannot go to work. After the accident, he was taken to a private clinic, where an X-ray confirmed the fracture. The doctors advised him to undergo surgery, but his family could not afford the cost. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On March 11th, Kimhuor will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will repair the fracture, stabilize his leg, and help him walk easily again. His family can contribute $100, but needs help raising the remaining $500 to fund his surgery and care. Kimhuor said, "I am very grateful for the support that allows me to receive this treatment. After the surgery, I hope my leg will heal so I can walk normally, return to my work, and earn some money to support my family."

Ny is 54 years old and a fruit seller from Banteay Meanchey Province from Cambodia. She is married and has one son, two daughters, and one grandson. She currently lives with her husband, who works as a construction laborer. In her free time, Ny enjoys listening to the news on the radio and listening to monks' sermons. Ny is diabetic, which has affected her vision. She was diagnosed with retinal detachment on her right eye. She has been experiencing constant tearing and blurred vision, which makes it difficult for her to see clearly and affects her ability to sell fruit properly. Because of her poor vision, she also finds it difficult to travel far places. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Ny learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for eight hours seeking treatment. On February 26th, eye surgeons will perform a retinal detachment repair procedure in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Her family can contribute $50, but needs hep raising $656 more to fund her procedure and care. Ny said, "She hopes that after surgery, her vision will improve, the tearing will stop, and her vision will not deteriorate any further. She wishes to return to selling fruit and move around independently as before."

Ronaldo is a three-year-old boy from Tanzania. He is the youngest of seven children. Ronaldo is a cheerful and energetic kid who loves playing and having fun with those around him. His father works as a casual laborer to support the family. Ronaldo was diagnosed with bilateral genu valgum, a condition that causes his legs to angle inward at the knees. Several factors can cause this condition, such as growth disorders, vitamin deficiencies, or excessive fluoride found in contaminated drinking water. As a result, the knees can be angled inwards or outwards, making it difficult to walk and may cause long-term joint damage. As Ronaldo has grown, his parents have become increasingly concerned about how the condition may affect his ability to walk comfortably and participate fully in daily activities. They also worry about the challenges he may face when he starts school in the future. Ronaldo's family is seeking care in the hopes that undergoing treatment will give Ronaldo the best possible start in life and allow him to grow, play, and attend school without difficulty. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping Ronaldo undergo treatment on June 2nd. This treatment will restore Ronaldo's mobility, allow him to participate in a variety of activities, and greatly decrease his risk of future complications. AMH is requesting $777 to fund his surgery. Ronaldo's mother said, "We want Ronaldo to grow up strong, walk comfortably, and one day go to school like his brothers and sisters."
