This is Yogendra, a friendly and studious ten-year-old boy from Nepal! Yogendra lives with his two younger sisters and his parents, who both work as wage laborers to support their family. He is currently in third grade at a local public school, and he loves his Nepali language class. Our medical partner, Possible, tells us “Yogendra wishes to be a teacher when he grows up.”
One day, one of the boys on the school playground accidentally pushed Yogendra while they were running around during a game. Yogendra fell on the floor with an outstretched hand, which resulted in a painful and swollen right elbow. After this incident, Yogendra was unable to move his right arm and has not attended school ever since. It has been difficult for Yogendra to eat and write property as well.
For $205, we can fund Yogendra’s surgery and help him regain mobility in his right arm so he can go back to school!
