Sach Chak is a 32-year-old taxi driver from Cambodia. He lives in Phnom Penh with his parents and two of his seven siblings. His father is in the air force, and his mother is a homemaker. Sach Chak used to work as a taxi driver but has not been able to work since his injury. During his free time, he enjoys spending time outside in the garden.
Four years ago, Sach Chak was involved in a motorbike accident. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and underwent emergency surgery at a local hospital. Since the accident, he has difficulty with walking, speaking, and carrying out daily activities. Sach Chak has spasticity on his left arm and surgery has been recommended to improve function and quality of life. He needs to undergo a tendon and nerve repair procedure to help regain strength and mobility.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is helping Sach Chak receive treatment. He is scheduled to undergo the tendon and nerve repair procedure on December 1st. Sach Chak and his family are able to contribute towards the cost of his treatment, but need help raising $601 more to fund the surgery.
Sach Chak’s mother says, “After the surgery, I hope that my son’s condition will improve.”
