Natasha is a jovial six-year-old only child living in Kenya. She is a grade 2 student and has several hobbies, including singing, praying, and cooking. Natasha was a healthy child at birth. However, when she turned three, her grandmother noticed that she had an unusual gait when she walked. She hoped that the condition would simply correct itself. Unfortunately, Natasha's situation has deteriorated, greatly affecting her mobility. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is seeking $1,224 to fund open reduction femur shortening osteotomy surgery, which is scheduled for April 18th, at AIC Cure International Hospital. This treatment will greatly improve Natasha's mobility and allow her to play with other children and continue with her education. “I will be grateful to see my grandchild walking normally like other children with your support,” Natasha’s grandmother told us.

Timothy is a sweet 4-month-old baby who is the last born in a family of four children being raised by two caring parents. The father works as an ICT specialist, and the mother is a banker. Their jobs enable them to provide for their family but with three children in school, they need to spend a significant amount of money to cover school fees and other school expenses. Timothy was born with a congenital condition where his leg was twisted inward and downward. The parents were advised on the best treatment plan for their son’s condition at the center where Timothy was born. He started treatment for clubfoot with a series of castings and then had a tenotomy. After the procedure, they faced an unexpected hurdle. The hospital could not provide the Foot Abduction Brace (FAB) to Timothy. As this equipment was crucial in his treatment process, they were directed to our center for further assistance. Upon arrival at our center and a sit-down with our team, our clubfoot specialist realized that Timothy’s foot still required casting. This news was troubling to the parents, as they had spent two months in treatment with the hope that they were about to finish treatment. After spending so much money on their first attempt at treatment. The parents have exhausted their savings. They are asking for help to cover their son’s treatment. Timothy's family traveled to visit our medical partner's care center, Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre where surgeons will perform clubfoot repair surgery on May 12th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $935 to fund Timothy's clubfoot repair. After treatment, he will be able to walk with ease once as he grows and can live a full life ahead. Timothy’s mother says, "We still have hope that our son will be fine; we just have to get through with the treatment."

Souy is a 76-year-old loving grandmother. She has one daughter and eight grandchildren. Sadly, her husband passed away 10 years ago from tuberculosis. Nowadays, Souy lives with her daughter who sells fish in the local market. She enjoys spending time with her family and visiting her local pagoda. One year ago, Souy developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her cloudy vision and sensitivity to light. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, thus she is unable to travel on her own. When Souy learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for one hour seeking treatment. On February 13th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and implant an intraocular lens in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Souy needs help to fund this $253 procedure. She said, "After surgery I hope I can see better and recognize people more easily."
