Sunday is a farmer from Uganda. He is the first born of six children. Sunday and two of his siblings dropped out of school because of a lack of school fees. Three of his siblings are still in primary school. Sunday’s family is from northern Uganda, but they resettled in western Uganda due to drought in the north. They are farmers who cultivate food for home consumption and for sale.
For four years, Sunday has had a left inguinal hernia. The hernia causes him pain and discomfort. If not treated, it may result in intestinal tissue damage and death. Fortunately, on January 17, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $249 to fund Sunday’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably.
Sunday says, “I am told that I will benefit from hernia repair but I am unable to pay for my treatment.”
