Say hello to Hla Yee, a 54-year-old mother of four living in the remote jungle of Burma. “Hla Yee started suffering from an ovary mass about three years ago,” explains our medical partner Burma Border Projects. Her symptoms have included fatigue and tightness in her abdomen, making her unable to sleep and causing a loss of appetite.
Due to financial hardship, Hla Yee never had the opportunity to attend school and has been a hard working farmer all her life. She and her husband own a farm where they plant rice, beans, and peanuts. “I really want to go back to work. It isn’t fair that my husband and daughter have to do all of the work. I want to help, too,” shares Hla Yee.
Hla Yee’s family has been unable to raise the funds for medical treatment and therefore she has never been to a medical clinic of any kind in her lifetime.
Together, we can raise $865 and get Hla Yee the surgery she needs. “Once Hla Yee has received surgery to remove her ovary mass, she will no longer suffer from any physical discomfort and she will be able to return to work. This will help her confidence and improve her mental well being,” continues Burma Border Projects.
Let’s help Hla Yee return to a happy and productive life!
