Justina is a bright and gentle five-year-old from Migori County in Kenya. She is one of four children and currently in Grade 2. Her mother describes her as a playful and joyful child who loves playing with her peers and is always happy to be at school. Justina’s mother is a homemaker, and her father works as a small-scale farmer.
Justina was born with club foot on both feet, a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape or position. As a result of the condition, Justina is unable to wear shoes, experiencing discomfort and pain while walking or running.
Fortunately, Justina is receiving care at our medical partner’s center, AIC Cure International Hospital. She has been scheduled for a club foot repair surgery on July 24th to improve her mobility, and enable her to continue with her studies uninterrupted. Now, Justina’s family needs help to fund this $1,286 procedure.
Justina’s mother says, “I am eager for my daughter’s full recovery. I am looking forward to seeing her walk confidently again. As a grateful parent, I am committed to advocating for this hospital, as many children from my community suffer from clubfoot conditions and I want them to know about the excellent care they would receive here. God bless your dedication in helping those in need.”

Justina underwent bilateral clubfoot correction, starting with serial casting to gradually correct the foot’s position by gently stretching and repositioning it over time. After a month, she underwent surgery. The treatment will greatly impact her because she will be able to put on shoes, walk, run, and continue with her studies like other children without any interruptions.
Lucia, Justina’s mother, said, “I am extremely grateful for the support. My daughter struggled with walking, and where we come from, there isn’t an orthopedic clinic. That’s why I’m so thankful to Cure for their work. Cure Hospital is excellent the services are outstanding, the hospital is clean, and the food is well-cooked and delicious. Everything here is just wonderful. I can’t wait to see my daughter walking like other children. She often tells me she wants to go back to school and pursue her dream of becoming a doctor so she can help children in need, just as she has been helped. I want to express my heartfelt thanks for the support. Please keep up the great work of helping those in need.”
